Creative Writing Competition for Schools
As part of our Greening Campaign, we are holding a creative writing competition for students from our local schools.
Prizes:
One winner will be chosen and will receive an Amazon gift card worth £50. The winning entry will be judged on how you address the theme of the competition, your originality and imagination, and how inspiring your piece is.
What should I write about?
We’d like you to write critically and creatively about how the climate crisis affects the people, places, and things around you. How will our impact on the environment affect our area? What changes would you like people make? Tell us about the difficult decisions you see need to be made to help save the planet? What is missing from the conversation? If you had the power, what changes would you make?
Be the planet’s defender and inspire others to care about its preservation and projection.
How to Enter
Either complete the online entry form or ask your English teacher or Class teacher to help you enter.
Forms of Creative Writing
The world is your oyster! So long as you have captured the theme in some way in your piece, you can write in any form you like! Journalism, essays, short stories, blog posts, poems. Whatever form you chose, the word limit is no more than 1000 words.
