Parish Council embraces solar for a greener future

A 4 kW solar PV system with 10 kW of batteries was added to the existing 1 kW solar at parish council offices on 11 March 2024.

This is making a considerable difference to the cost of running the parish council office, workshop and depot with a clear reduction in cost.  It is hoped that the additional 4kW will show a reduction of xx in carbon emissions, generation of a minimum of xx kWh and a reduction of £ xx to the cost of electricity

in the first year of operation.

In November 2023 the Council agreed to install a 10 kW solar PV system with 14.2 kW of batteries at Woodland Community Centre after a completed Energy Efficiency Report highlighted the need for a Solar PV system.  Funding of just over £13 K was successfully received from Hampshire County Council, with the Parish Council contributing just under £7K from the Crowdhill Community Centre Earmarked reserve.  The installation will begin on 13 May 2024.  This installation is expected to save xx Co2e,  £ xx in energy costs by generating xx kWh in the first year.
